Haiden Deegan was arrested in Santa Rosa Beach on March 21, charged with street racing/stunt driving. According to an arrest report from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Haiden Deegan was taken into custody after allegedly doing donuts in a sports car at the Walton Sports Complex parking lot.
The arresting deputy, who was on patrol, reported hearing screeching tires and revving engines. Upon investigation, he found four vehicles in the parking lot near the complex, while nearby cars appeared to belong to people using the pickleball courts.
Per the report, deputies observed a gray Audi R8 with its brake lights on, which then accelerated westward and completed a full spin in the lane leading to the pickleball courts. After activating his emergency lights and siren, the deputy said the driver performed another spin before stopping.
An off-duty deputy also witnessed the event and detained the driver, identified as Haiden Deegan. While seated in the patrol vehicle, Deegan allegedly remarked, “We were all drifting,” according to the report.
Deegan was arrested and issued a traffic citation. He was first transported to the South Walton Substation, then transferred to the Walton County Jail. The Audi R8 was towed and placed on a 30-day impound hold.
The law bans street takeovers, unsanctioned drag racing, drifting, wheelies, burnouts, and donuts. The arresting officer also confiscated fake driver’s licenses, including one that had a false birth year indicating that he was 21, according to his arrest report. ‘It should be noted the Deputy expressed to me that Haiden was respectful during the entire encounter. That is part of the reason he was not charged with having the fake IDs – which is a felony in Florida,’ Public Information Officer Corey Dobridnia told Dailymail.com.
