Netflix has officially confirmed that a sequel series to The Last Kingdom is in the works. Titled Destiny Is All, the new show is scheduled for release in 2026. This marks a major revival of the fan-favorite historical drama, following the events of the 2023 film Seven Kings Must Die, which was originally thought to be the franchise’s conclusion.

Set in the aftermath of Uhtred of Bebbanburg’s final battle, Destiny Is All will explore the fragile unification of England under King Aethelstan. The series promises new power struggles, emerging threats, and complex political alliances that will challenge the hard-won peace. While the original story centered on Uhtred’s journey, the sequel will shift focus to the next generation of warriors and rulers.
