Barry White’s Family and UMG Announce Posthumous Album with Star-Studded Features
In a momentous announcement that has thrilled music lovers across the globe, the family of the late soul legend Barry White, in collaboration with Universal Music Group (UMG), has revealed plans to release a posthumous album that will celebrate the enduring legacy of the Maestro of Love. Titled “Eternal: The Voice of Barry White”, the album will feature a mix of unreleased vocals, modern reinterpretations of his classics, and high-profile collaborations that promise to “blow our minds,” according to insiders.
The project, which has been in quiet development for over two years, will be the first official Barry White release since his passing in 2003. Working with state-of-the-art audio restoration technology, engineers at UMG have meticulously remastered and enhanced vocal recordings from Barry’s extensive archive, many of which were previously unheard by the public. These tracks will now serve as the foundation for a new, multi-genre experience.
“We wanted to do this right,” said Glodean White, Barry’s widow and former member of Love Unlimited. “Barry always dreamed of making music that would outlive him. With this album, we’re showing the world that his voice, his message, and his love are truly eternal.” The album is being executive produced by a joint team from UMG’s catalog division and Barry White’s estate, with full creative input from the family.
“Eternal” is expected to feature a stunning lineup of guest artists, including Adele, Bruno Mars, SZA, Leon Bridges, and HER—all of whom have cited Barry White as a foundational influence. Industry sources have also hinted at a genre-bending collaboration with Drake, as well as a gospel-tinged duet with the legendary Gladys Knight.
The album’s lead single, set to drop in November 2025, is a reimagined version of Barry White’s 1974 classic “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe”, featuring Alicia Keys and the original rhythm section digitally reconstructed. Early preview sessions have reportedly left music executives in awe, describing the track as “goosebump-inducing” and “a masterclass in timeless soul.”
Producers behind the album include Grammy-winning names like Babyface, No I.D., and Terrace Martin, ensuring a modern but respectful touch to White’s legendary sound. According to UMG, the project aims not just to revive Barry’s music, but to “reintroduce him to a new generation that deserves to know the power of a voice that defined love.”
In addition to the album, UMG will launch a global campaign titled #BarryIsBack, featuring digital billboards, immersive listening parties, and exclusive interviews with artists involved in the project. A short-form docuseries chronicling the making of Eternal will also be released on YouTube and Vevo ahead of the album’s Valentine’s Day 2026 debut.
The White family has been deeply involved in curating not only the musical direction but the emotional tone of the album. “This isn’t just about releasing new music,” said Darryl White, Barry’s son. “It’s about honoring a man who gave the world a language for love. We want every note, every word, to reflect who he was as a person and an artist.”
Fans across social media are already buzzing with excitement, with many praising the decision to blend Barry’s vintage vocal tracks with modern production and contemporary artists. The hashtag #EternalBarryWhite trended within hours of the announcement, signaling the enormous anticipation surrounding the album’s release.
Critics and music historians alike are calling Eternal one of the most ambitious posthumous projects in modern music history. “Barry White was more than a voice—he was a movement,” said music journalist Nelson George. “This album has the potential to reignite soul music on a scale we haven’t seen in decades.”
With its global release set for February 14, 2026, Eternal: The Voice of Barry White is already shaping up to be a landmark event in the world of music. One thing is clear: the deep, velvety voice that once defined romance is returning—bolder, smoother, and more unforgettable than ever.
