Lady Gaga Brings Darkness to Nevermore: The Mother Monster Meets Wednesday Addams

The wait for Wednesday Season 2 just got a whole lot more exciting. Netflix has officially confirmed that the incomparable Lady Gaga will be joining the cast as Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious and enigmatic teacher at Nevermore Academy. This revelation was made at the Netflix Tudum 2025 live event, where Gaga closed out the festivities with a theatrical performance that left fans breathless.

According to the synopsis, Rosaline Rotwood is a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega. Details about the character are still under wraps, but one thing is certain – with Lady Gaga on board, things are about to get a whole lot more interesting.

Gaga’s involvement in the series was heavily anticipated, thanks in part to the viral success of her song “Bloody Mary” in the show’s first season. Fans took to social media to recreate the iconic dance scene, and Gaga herself even got in on the fun. Now, it seems she’s set to bring her unique brand of weirdness to the small screen.

At Tudum, Gaga made a dramatic entrance from a coffin labeled “Here Lies the Monster Queen.” She performed a medley of songs, including “Abracadabra,” “Zombieboy,” and “Bloody Mary,” alongside dancers dressed as Wednesday characters. Jenna Ortega even made a cameo appearance during the performance, sitting at the head of a long banquet table for a spooky feast.

The new season of Wednesday will be split into two parts, with Part 1 premiering on August 6, 2025, and Part 2 following on September 3. Gaga’s character will reportedly appear in Part 2, which means fans will have to wait a bit longer to see her in action.

Ortega has spoken highly of working with Gaga, calling her “definitely one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever worked with.” She also praised Gaga’s kindness and generosity, saying it’s “very strange” but endearing.

Wednesday Season 2 promises to deliver more of the dark comedy and gothic wit that fans have come to expect from the series. With Gaga on board, the show is likely to reach new heights of weirdness and wonder. Other new additions to the cast include Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, and Haley Joel Osment as the Kansas City Scalper, a serial killer with an obsession with hair.

The show’s co-creator and showrunner, Alfred Gough, explained that the Kansas City Scalper, also known as Chet, is a beauty school dropout turned serial killer. This new villain promises to bring a fresh layer of terror to the series.

Tudum also showcased returning cast members, including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Fred Armisen, and Isaac Ordonez. With this impressive lineup, fans are in for a treat.

The first six minutes of Wednesday Season 2 were previewed at Tudum, giving fans a glimpse into the new season’s storyline. The teaser clip showed Wednesday captured in a serial killer’s lair, followed by flashbacks of her hunting the Kansas City Scalper during summer break.
