One New York Yankees fan arguably created more excitement than the team during Sunday’s showdown against the Boston Red Sox.In a 3-0 defeat at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y., the Yankees’ bats fell silent against their division rivals.

The game remained a pitchers’ duel through six innings, with both the Yankees’ Luis Gil and the Red Sox’s Kutter Crawford keeping the score at zero entering the 7th inning. The tie was broken by Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers’ solo home run with one out in the top of the 7th. The ball was caught by the previously mentioned Yankees fan, who displayed an impressive arm by launching the ball just shy of the infield on its first bounce.

The Yankees fan nearly sent Devers’ 373-foot home run ball rolling all the way back to home plate. The Pinstripes went three up, three down in six of the game’s nine innings. They grounded into two double plays and never had more than four batters come to the plate in a single inning.
